Amicelli Duo is a vibrant duo of two professional cellists Rachel Threlfall and Hannah Monkhouse. They have years of experience in providing suitable music for a variety of occasions, such as weddings, corporate functions and recitals. Amicelli have performed extensively throughout the U.K. Recent venues include City Hall, Tower Bridge Walkways, The Victoria and Albert Museum, The National Gallery and major London hotels including The Mandarin, The Ritz and The Lanesborough.

Amicelli are passionate about their unusual duo combination of two cellos. The cello is one of the most versatile instruments, with its extensive register and suitability for various musical styles. The Duo offers an original alternative to a String Quartet.

Amicelli have a wide range of repertoire, from light Classical to Folk arrangements, Tangos and Show tunes. You can choose your favourite pieces, or let us suggest a suitable programme for your event.


Rachel Threlfall

Since graduating from the Royal College of Music in 2002, Rachel has been enjoying a busy freelancing career in London. She works regularly with a variety of ensembles and orchestras, including The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The London Philharmonic Orchestra, The BBC concert orchestra and The London Festival Orchestra. Rachel has also recently completed tours with The English Touring Opera and The Carl Rose Opera Company.

Rachel has made several recordings for BBC Radio, including a recent collaboration with playwright Joanna Lawrence for Radio 3's 'The Wire' and appearing on the sound track on BBC Radio 4's production of Les Miserables. She has also been involved in educational projects with members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and The Philharmonia.


Hannah Monkhouse

Hannah Monkhouse studied at Chetham's School of Music in Manchester before
moving to London to learn with Melissa Phelps at The Royal College of Music. Since
graduating in 2003, she has been working as a freelance orchestral player with various orchestras, including The Southbank Sinfonia and The New Professionals.

Hannah performs regularly as a soloist and has organised her own concert series for solo and chamber music with other musicians, with recent performances in London and the Midlands. She continues to study and have masterclasses with internationally acclaimed cellists such as Johannes Goritski, Alexander Baillie, Louise Hopkins and Moray Welsh. Hannah also teaches the cello privately and in schools and has been involved with various educational projects to help make classical music more accessible to a wider audience.
